The Vatican Museums

I Vatican Museums were established in the early sixteenth century in of Renaissance palaces that housed the residence of the popes, today there are exposed the most famous works of antiquity come to light in Rome in Italy, including the Group of Laocoon, discovered in 1506 on the Esquiline, the Apollo Belvedere Torso. During the Renaissance, some rooms of the splendid palaces were decorated with unique frescoes, such as Sistine Chapel and Raphael Rooms .
